Vom 65%igen Robin zum 85%igen Superman. Beim zweiten Versuch war ich etwas entscheidungsfreudiger. Und siehe da! Die akrobatischen Künste sind futsch ;-)

@LaiLou: English is perfectly fine here. I’m sure that most of my readers understand English, and anyway, I do. :-)
The “du und sie” thing is even more complicated when it comes to blogging; I never know how to address others in their blogs. Many people think using “Sie” is quite distinguished there, and I probably agree, though I’m more comfortable with “du”.

So, you’re a Wonder Woman. (Children, collect them all! So far, the only ones that I haven’t seen are Flash and Hulk, a.k.a. the Flash and the Hulk.) Wonder Woman did the twirling only on TV, but this seems to have left quite an impression of people. So I’ve only heard of it and never actually got to see it, though I managed to see one episode (a pilot?) in my teens.
Last month in Brighton I got a second-hand copy of the Jeremy Paxton book, “The English: A Portrait of a People”, which Kate Fox quotes. I’m looking forward to comparing their views.

@Estara: Ah, da kommt das “I’m the goddamn Batman” her, dem ich hier und da schon mal begegnet bin. Sieht aber auch nicht viel schlimmer aus als das, was gerade bei Marvel passiert, und die Kritik liest sich ja vergnüglich. Dennoch stimmt mich optimistisch, dass Frank Miller gerade an einer Verfilmung von Will Eisners Spirit arbeitet. Ich kann mir zwar nicht vorstellen, wie das gehen soll, aber das konnte ich bei Sin City ja auch nicht.

Found your site while googling “kate fox watching the english”, which I am reading at the moment. I find myself laughing aloud and appreciate most of her findings, but then again, I am English. Interesting to see a German’s perspective on the book. Was also a more interesting search string than “lehrer blog”, don’t you think?
Of course I did the superhero test. Am WonderWoman. Hmmmm. Well, I used to practise twirling three times in the playground, but can’t remember any transformation (apart from falling over dizzy). Am I allowed to post in English? Got the impression most of your readers understand it. It’s just that “du und sie” thing in German makes me really nervous.

Im Lehrerzimmer bin ich auf das Superhero-Quiz gestoßen und musste es natürlich gleich selbst ausprobieren. Mit dem Ergebnis kann ich zufrieden sein.
